Direct day-to-day equipment maintenance operations at all yards.
Must be able to stand or walk for long periods; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects; lift up to 80 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 50 pounds, climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects; carry tools and equipment; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl, and see and hear (naturally or with correction). May be required to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends or on short notice. Good communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills required.
Education and Experience:
Technical training, through master mechanic programs, technical school, or apprenticeship. Five to ten years of related experience.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsible for effective maintenance and repair programs, equipment safety programs and equipment/machinery utilization.
May act as technical advisor on all production equipment issues and assist management team with budget and purchasing decisions.
Recommend improvements in maintenance processes and techniques in order to promote more efficient operations.
Review, schedule and coordinate ongoing maintenance activities to minimize disruption of usage on projects.
Review and monitor work orders to ensure timely performance and quality of work.
Maintain spare parts/maintenance supply inventory and coordinate the purchasing of materials and supplies for maintenance services.
Perform preventive maintenance and system checks on plant systems and equipment.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
